The 50 hottest disruptive technology companies
UK Top 100 law firm, based across East Anglia, has read the tea leaves and fashioned a dedicated Commercial and Technology team to service an increasingly influential sector of the economy.
Echoing a popular move in Cambridge, especially, Birketts has spun-out the team from its Corporate Services division.
It has been created to harness the extensive sector knowledge and targeted legal skills that it believes the team’s 20+ specialist lawyers possess.
The new unit will support clients on issues ranging from day-to-day businesses activities through to key commercial projects – including international and domestic supply chains, IP protection and exploitation, technology, data protection, insurance and e-commerce.
The team’s specialist lawyers include Melanie Harvey (Trade Marks and branding); Kitty Rosser (Data Protection); Quentin Golder (Life Sciences); Ian D’Castro (Insurance); Paul Palik (Utilities); Andrew Priest (CleanTech) and Mark Gipson (Supply chains).
Adrian Seagers, head of Corporate Services at Birketts, said: “Providing a best-in-class client experience is at the heart of our business model so it is vital that we have the specialist teams in place to deal with the issues that arise for our clients on a daily basis.
“With businesses facing an increase in commercial and technological issues this newly formed team will provide access to highly experienced advisers to ensure that we can help them on every step of their business journey.”
