The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) announced another round of rate reduction as it cut its August rates by P0.2087 per kilowatt hour (kWh), equivalent to a decrease of around P42 in the total bill of a residential customer consuming 200 kWh.  Meralco vice president and head of Corporate Communications Joe Zaldarriaga said with this adjustment, Meralco’s rates now have a combined reduction of P0.9154 per kWh over the past two months and a net decrease of P0.2315 per kWh since the start of the year.
City Savings supports Ligtas na Balik-Aral
As the country prepares for the gradual resumption of face-to-face (F2F) classes, the Department of Education (DepEd) together with its external partners launched Brigada Eskwela 2022 with the theme “Tugon sa Hamon ng Ligtas na Balik-Aral” at Imus Pilot Elementary School, Imus, Cavite last August 1.
With education-focused initiatives at the core of its corporate social responsibility (CSR), City Savings Bank continues to support the safe opening of the new school year this August. This year, CitySavings has committed to helping 200 beneficiary schools nationwide.

SM joins Hall of Fame for excellence in Good Governance
SM Investments Corp.was recently cited as a Hall of Famer in the Corporate Governance category of the Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards (AREA) 2022.
In giving the award, AREA recognized SM Investments for “demonstrating transparency and completeness of disclosure and reporting of governance practices in their annual report.” This is “while also safeguarding integrity in financial reporting, promoting ethical decision making through a structured board of committee, respecting the rights of shareholders and remunerating fairly and responsibly.”

Maynilad awarded UK’s Investors in People gold level status
West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services Inc. earned a Gold Level accreditation from United Kingdom-based Investors in People (IiP)—a globally recognized institution that sets the mark for people management excellence. This makes Maynilad the first and only water company in the Philippines with an IiP gold accreditation.

AG&P Industrial completes Thai Oil Clean Fuel Project
AG&P Industrial, the manufacturing and construction arm of AG&P Group, celebrated the completion of its 35-module Thai Oil Clean Fuel Project with the delivery of the final batch of 5 modules weighing 5,103.47 MT. The Thai Oil Clean Fuel Project was for the expansion and upgrade of the Sriracha Refinery in Thailand. On July 23, AG&P set sail the sixth shipment for Sriracha, Thailand from AG&P’s facilities in Bauan, Batangas. With the completion of this project, Sriracha’s refining capacity for high-value fuel products will increase from 275,000 to 400,000 barrels per day, while ensuring compliance with the new global fuel quality and emission standards.
Fashion collaboration 
COS × Anatol Knotek is the latest collaboration by the London-based fashion brand. In continued dialogue with the creatives who inspire COS’ designs, the collection captures Knotek’s typographic elements and monochrome colour palette.
Partially color-blind, his artwork replaces color and drawn lines with words, instead working with language to create impact. Knotek’s apparently simple artwork usually conveys a hidden message, often incorporating a sense of humour. His artwork, aptly named, The Solution, forms the foundation of the capsule, where the poem arises from the problem.
The unisex collection comprises one of the timeless COS signatures: the classic relaxed-fit T-shirt used as the canvas for two T-shirt designs in inverted colorways.

4As ARAL Session
The Association of Accredited Advertising Agencies of the Philippines (4As) recently partnered with market research and strategic consultancy firm Synergy to undertake a pioneering study that aims to determine the correlation between brand purpose and consumer purchase.
The signing of the partnership agreement took place last August 5 via Zoom. In attendance were 4As chairperson and CEO Wunderman Thompson Golda Roldan; 4As president and president and managing director of Grupo Agatep, Norman Agatep; 4As trustee for ARAL Program and CEO of Propel Manila JC Valenzuela; Synergy CEO Germaine Reyes; and Synergy COO Renzo Reyes.
Synergy is the Philippine partner of YouGov, a research and data analytics company based in the United Kingdom. YouGov is known worldwide for conducting public opinion research on a variety of fields, the results of which are used by journalists, politicians, and marketers to make data-driven analyses and decisions.
This partnership between 4As and Synergy will closely look at how brand purpose—basically a company or organization’s reason for being—impacts and influences the decisions made by the consumer. The results of this groundbreaking study will then be shared to 4As members through a 4As ARAL Session that is scheduled this September.
